I started Volunteer Police Cadets in year 7 it was incredibly fun and a cool journey I learnt a lot over the years, went on February freezer camp and alot of Trips.

  • Being with them was not just good for me but it made me learn a lot of things.
  • we had a weekly meeting to practice drills and learn new police vocab and abbreviations.
  • learning things like police procedures and the law , cadets also play a vital role in community events, engaging with members of the public and educating them on crime prevention.
  • we interacted with different people for different reasons.
  • Outside of weekly meetings, cadets are given the opportunity to volunteer to assist policing operations and events such as Test Purchasing, trying to buy items that they are too young to buy legally, weapons sweeps of their local community spaces, crime prevention initiatives and helping at large scale events such as London Marathon.
