CAREER SUMMARY

I am a confident, highly organised professional who strives at anything I put my mind too. I am able to pick up in house processes and procedures and engrave them in to my daily routines. In previous jobs I have been able to consistently impress employers to gain more responsibilities and trust, which has ended up with fast track advancement. I have 5 plus years' experience in a customer facing role within retail, hospitality and the equine industry. I am meticulous in my way to approach and deal with all situations, never missing a detail. Based on my current expectations I aim to develop the skills I learned throughout my academic years and my previous job roles. Throughout my career I have tried a few different job roles therefore I have alot of skills at hand. I felt my skills and abilities weren't utilized to their furthest extent at these job roles therefore my previous positions weren't the best fit. I'm currently looking for my next long term employment.

Work history

Work rider

G Nicholls
Wantage, Oxfordshire
01.2023 - Current

In this job I was alot more involved in the riding side of things compared to my previous job in racing. I would exercise race horses to confirm top physical condition prior to races and make sure they are maintaing top physical and mental health. Contributed to daily care of horses by sweeping, grooming and feeding to keep all animals healthy and well. Treated minor wounds and administered medical care following vet instructions to increase speed of recovery. I often demonstrated excellent control and judge of pace to follow trainers instructions. It was important to provide expert feedback on horse performance within trainer fitness programmes.

During my time at this position I provided care for horses and assistance for their owners. Apart of my daily routine would be to feed and exercise the horses and then provide any extra nutritional support they needed

I would exercise up to 9 horses a day following my trainer's instructions to get these horses ready for the races. I would also groom and keep the horses looking their best as well as seeing too any medical needs they have weather it may be a condition or disease they suffered from or to a minor medical issue such a cut or graze. An important part of the jon was to observe body language of horses, notifying yard manager of suspected illnesses or injuries. Handled arrangements and travel for race days, ensuring thorough preparation for smooth, safe horse transportation.

Groom/Rider

Sasha H
Wantage, Oxfordshire
11.2019 - 10.2020

I worked as a riding groom for a 4* Event rider. This was a temporary placement due to her sustaining an injury. During this role I was in sole charge looking after 8 horses a day.I was expected to do the usual yard duties from cleaning the stables to feeding, grooming and exercising the horses. This was a huge amount of responsibility to be given as the age of 18 due to being given sole charge of a professional's horses and to look after them whilst she was away for weekends etc. I also upheld the highest levels of animal health, creating and maintaining up to date medical records, such as vaccination schedules, teeth and shoeing etc. Aswell as being in chsarge of ordering feed and bedding when necessary.

Cleaner

Ecoserve
Wantage, Oxfordshire
01.2019 - 11.2019

I was a cleaner in a secondary school, I worked closely with the supervisor helping assist her and assigning tasks to colleagues and essentially being her eyes and ears when she wasn't around. This role included sweeping, mopping, hovering, tidying, polishing and cleaning windows. I was trained to use all of the chemicals and cleaning machines on site. We also carried out deep cleans during half term and other school holidays which included using large, heavy machinery which we had to be trained to do.

Sales Advisor

H&M
Didcot, Oxfordshire
04.2018 - 08.2018

I dealt with tricky customers, complaints and everyday problems.

I also helped with the turnover of stock and sorting through huge amounts of crates sorting the sale items from the normal priced items,

Individually unpacking items, we would then check the quality of the items if suitable for sale we would then tag and hang the items of clothing. I also helped the visual merchandisers to replan the store when we had changes to make to our displays. Aswell as giving top service to all customers who come in.

Waitress

MLC Pubs
Oxford, Oxfordshire
03.2016 - 04.2018

During my time as a waitress i had to be on the ball at all times and very good at multi-tasking. I believe teamwork is significantly important for a restaurant, since it can be a fast-paced and intense enviroment. As a waitress, I've appreciated previous coworkers who were there to run an order out to a table when I was busy with another one, and I always worked to return the favor. I would also have to be mindful to go back and check up on tables regularly to make sure they were satisfied with their food and drink and to make sure they were receiving first class service. Unfortunately sometimes we had to resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally, notifying restaurant management of concerns.
