Amber Williamson-Brown

Since a young age I have adored animals and have spent many happy hours surrounded by them. In the past I have spent time at the therapy farm in Dedham where I gained a valuable insight into what farm life is like. I have also spent time around horses, helping with things such as mucking out, preparing feed buckets grooming and training horses. For the last 2 years I have volunteered at a small horse show where I have run the minmus have a go ring. This has improved my confidence and showcased my responsibility with being able to handle money and speak to customers.

I also take part in a weekly theatre class where we build our acting singing and dancing skills and also take part in musicals which we perform. Additionally, I also take part in summer shows with the same theatre company. I take part in school shows and currently have a lead role in Newsies.

I have done several voluntary roles within school including in year 8 being a peer reader where I supported year 7 student as well as primary school students learn how to and improve their reading skills. I became a pastoral prefect in year 9 and helped organise and teach a year 7 form. This was an amazing opportunity for me as I got to plan lessons which took lots of dedication and also teach the class where I had to learn how to gain authority and trust with the notoriously challenging form group.
