I am a friendly, dedicated and motivated student at Liverpool John Moores University, looking for part time work to fit around my studies. With 3 years working at The Coffee Roast in Vale Park, New Brighton, I have gained experience in the hospitality sector, honed my customer service skills and expanded my knowledge of health and safety regulations, food handling and cleanliness by completing High Speed Training Level 1 and Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety courses. I am friendly to customers and I am dedicated to ensuring they feel welcome and have a positive experience when dining at the establishment. I have been given the responsibility to open and close the cafe and its tearoom, organising tables in response to bookings, and handling money for transactions. I received my full barista training from Adams and Russell Coffee Roasters, which covered correct equipment, set up and cleaning of the coffee machine, as well as coffee extraction and milk technique to make great quality drinks.
Outside of my studies, I have been an active player in my local Church pantomime over the past 10 years, where communication and teamwork play a key role in the success of the shows. This has developed my confidence from starting as a member of the chorus, to becoming one of the main character roles. I regularly step in to assist and work with others to develop their characters and teach the children involved any songs or dances. Using and implementing these skills into my workplace, I have learnt how to manage other members of staff, and train many new staff. This has been particularly important during closing shifts when attention to detail and thorough cleaning is required. I am a versatile member of staff, wanting to learn new skills and enjoy working in a team setting to maintain a happy environment.
