Returning to MFB for further work experience two years later was an incredible opportunity to build on my legal knowledge and skills. I was able to gain hands-on experience by preparing legal bundles, drafting documents and was in attendance at Arbitration Court for a live shipping case. I was able to work alongside talented partners, associates, paralegals, and trainees, forming valuable relationships in a supportive and welcoming environment. The experience depended my passion for law and ambition to pursue a legal career.
Work experience at MFB Solicitors gave me valuable insight and knowledge of maritime law during my time there. It was a great opportunity to expand on my legal knowledge by engaging with trainees and paralegals and shadowing their day to day legal work. It was also a great opportunity to talk to the associates and the partners of the firm about maritime law and I was able to look through old cases they had completed.
Work experience with Browne Jacobson allowed me to gain insight into the firm's values, structure and career pathways through discussions on training contracts, different seats and progression opportunities. We also learned the skills and qualities that are admired in the legal profession, engaging with trainees who shared their personal experiences.
