I have been working as a pupil support worker for the last 10 years, primarily working closely with children with additional needs. I enjoy the interaction and relationships that have been built with the children, and that no two days are the same.
I have gained knowledgeable experience over the years, including how to support children in different and individual ways, and being able to use tailored strategies. I have also learned that not all children are the same, and if you find the right approach, You can make a big difference to them. It has been a highlight of my career to watch the achievements the children can make with the correct support and encouragement.
I enjoy working as part of a team but can also use my own initiative if I see that someone needs help. I enjoy establishing good working relationships with people such as teachers, the children and also the families. I find this helps in promoting a positive environment.
I am looking for a new challenge that allows me to use what I have learned from my experiences in the last 10 years and put them to good use in a new environment.
My strengths are that I am flexible, hardworking individual with a broad range of skills gained within a variety of working environments. I can communicate well at all levels and have a methodical approach to planning and organising. I am an effective team player who also works well independently. Manages time efficiently and performs well under pressure. A quick learner with a can do attitude who is keen to secure a new opportunity where her skills and experience can be fully utilised.
I am very creative and love arts & crafts, I love adapting spaces and turning them into imaginative areas such as nurture or breakout spaces.
I would love the opportunity to be part of the amazing team at Harmeny.
I work as part of the school team to help support the pupils' teaching and learning. Currently, I work on a one-to-one basis with children with additional needs. I contribute to providing them a safe, secure, and inclusive school environment. I do this by building positive relationships with them and their families, which builds the child's confidence and enhances their ability to learn.
I also work as a Family Link Worker one day a week, which allows me to engage positively with our children and their families to provide a range of practical and emotional assistance by helping them access services, resources, and information that they may need.
