Prior to this role, I held the role of Senior Bid Manager and Bid Manager.

  • Team Management of 10 colleagues and management of the Bid Team for Europe and Asia.
  • Responsible for the Bid Management Process in Europe and Asia, its application and maintenance.
  • Responsible for understanding pipeline of large, upcoming opportunities and planning bid resources accordingly.
  • Liaises with Divisional staff on the bid per bid resources, capabilities, availabilities, commitment; budget for the bid, including freelancers, as appropriate.
  • Participates in Go / No-go discussions, both from a strategic point of view and a focus on staff resources & workload capacity.
  • Assigns Bid Manager and/or Bid Coordinator to competitive bids based on bid size, complexity, timing and staff availability, staff background, growth interests & working relationship.
  • Facilitator of proposal training to staff on how to write persuasive proposals and development or our win strategy
  • Manages the most strategically important opportunities to include the following responsibilities:
  • Reviews client procurement site for updates during the bid period together with the Bid Coordinator; coordinates the submittal of questions for clarification by the client.
  • Responsible for liaising with central business service staff following submittal of the Request for Support Form (with all ITT/request documents) and receipt of resulting “ITT Review” Summary.
  • Initiates and leads workshops on bid strategy and content; defines, implements & monitors the bid process according to the Playbook;
  • Establishes & maintains the Bid Plan (as an update of the Capture Plan, if available), communicating the bid structure and specific instructions and briefs to all relevant parties.
  • Responsible for developing, preparing and/or approving all qualifying evidence as required on a timely basis (e.g., compliance checklist, teaming profiles).
  • Manages all people components of the process, including setting up, directing, and delivering Colour Team reviews (e.g., availability, planning, deliverables).
  • May also play the role of Teaming Leader; manages external partners’ Bid Manager counterparts (e.g., consortium members, subcontractors), in coordination with CBS- Procurement and Technical Lead and Creative Strategy Leader or Contributors.
  • Monitors the progress of the bid via regular meetings and reporting (including alerts and action points):.
  • Continuously checks resourcing throughout bid process.
  • Following bid submittal: Initiates and reports on bid-specific Lessons Learned and contributes to the Continual Improvement practice; ensures fulfilment of BD knowledge management responsibilities.
  • First point of contact for post-submission clarifications from the client, and responsible for managing the clarification.
