Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess and monitor critically ill patients using advanced technology, such as ventilators, heart monitors, and infusion pumps, to track vital signs, lab results, and clinical status.
Critical Care Management: Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to the care plan, including managing life-support systems ,CVVHDF, and providing immediate care for acute medical conditions or post-surgical recovery and critical care transport.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, respiratory therapists, and other nurses, to develop and implement care plans and make decisions based on patient needs. Effective communication with patients' families is also essential to keep them informed and provide emotional support.
Patient Advocacy: Ensure patients' rights are respected and that the care provided is aligned with their needs, preferences, and ethical considerations. In some cases, advocate for end-of-life care decisions or comfort measures when appropriate.
Critical Thinking and Decision-Making: Make rapid, informed decisions during emergencies or changes in a patient's condition. This includes anticipating complications, recognizing early signs of deterioration, and responding swiftly.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care, interventions, and outcomes to ensure continuity of care and comply with legal and institutional requirements.
Education and Support: Provide education to patients (when possible) and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery processes. Support families in coping with critical illness and end-of-life decisions.
