Work history

Play Leader

Trelawnyd Little Learners
Trelawnyd, Flintshire
2025.02 - Current
  • I am responsible for planning routines and activities for children aged 3 - 4 years, as well as creating targets to further their development based on ongoing observations through their play.
  • This role has allowed me to improve my literacy and digital literacy skills, as I have been responsible for reviewing, amending and creating policies and procedures to protect the children, families and staff who attend the setting. I have created multiple different forms to document care routines, targets, accidents / incidents etc, and have also designed posters to promote the setting both in person and online.
  • I have developed my understanding of AI and have implemented this into my work by hosting a school wide competition to create a new logo. I took the finished drawing and put it through ChatGPT to create a cleaner look which is now used on our social media, website and documents. The logo features two characters which I continually use AI to bring to life as a learning tool; they are featured on our display boards and worksheets to encourage the children to have fun as they learn.
  • I have sole responsibility of the setting's social media which I update on a regular basis to promote the setting and any events or fundraisers we may be hosting. I am able to communicate professionally through the messaging services linked to the page and confidently answer questions or take bookings electronically, face to face or over the phone.
  • As play leader I am responsible for communicating with outside agencies and professionals, and am always eager to learn from them and seek support whenever needed. I have arranged meetings and discussed any concerns or ideas professionally, and make sure that I am providing as much detail as required and returning any documents that may have been requested in a timely manner.

Nursery Nurse

Miri Melyd Fun Club
Meliden, Denbighshire
2023.03 - 2024.09
  • My role at Miri Melyd was shared across 3 sites, where I was responsible for observing the milestones of my set key children, and using these observations to create plans and targets for them to achieve their next steps.
  • I was responsible for maintaining clean spaces for play and learning, and often responsible for providing the children with a healthy snack or making tea for all the children in the after school club.
  • I am able to follow personal care routines as well as the daily routine and contribute to the daily planning of activities, both child led and pre planned.
  • I have developed strong communication skills as I was often involved in welcoming the children into the setting and taking them out to their parents at the end of the day.
  • I was also occasionally responsible for handling money, as well as logging it correctly within receipt books or on the log sheets provided by my employer.
  • I was responsible for general housekeeping of the rooms and occasional call handling between professionals such as Flying Start and parents/carers.

Nursery Nurse

Tiny Tots Day Nursery
Prestatyn, Denbighshire
2022.06 - 2023.02
  • During my time at Tiny Tots I worked through all rooms of the setting, experiencing working with children between the ages of 6 months - 11 years.
  • My main rooms were the toddler (1-2 years) and preschool (2-4 years).
  • Within these rooms I was responsible for following out personal care routines for every child within the room, ensuring they had clean spaces to sleep and eat, and filling out paperwork that would be sent home to the parents every evening.
  • Within this role I had the opportunity to grow in confidence by doing handover with the parents every morning and evening, and being involved in putting ideas forward to the management team in regards to activity and resource planning.
  • Later on into my job I was also sent to help run the after school club at Ysgol Trelawnyd, where I was responsible for providing and temperature checking meals daily, and providing the children with clean meal and play spaces, as well as planning and putting forward play and activity ideas.

  • My time was split between mornings in the nursery class and afternoons in the reception class.
  • Within the classrooms I was responsible for assisting the class teacher in activity prepping, helping the children to complete their set tasks throughout the day, and ensuring the classrooms remained tidy and fully equipped with any resources the children or teacher may need throughout the day.

College Student

Little Rascals Day Nursery
Prestatyn, Denbighshire
2021.10 - 2022.04
  • My time at Little Rascals was spent as part of my required childcare hours for college, which consisted of 2 days a week placement and the occasional opportunity to do block weeks within the setting.
