I worked at Directorate level (Head of Housing Services) with Southside Housing Association from 2015 to 2022 and also carried out the Housing Managers role during this period. Prior to this I was a Senior Housing Manager at both Southside and Glasgow Housing Associations over an eleven year period. I therefore have a wide range of experience, both strategically and operationally, relevant to the advertised post and I have the relevant skill set to be successful in delivering for SHR.
Homelessness - I had the overall responsibility for the strategic planning and operational delivery of Homelessness Services at Southside. Practical application would include the annual Lettings Plan, Policy Development, Quarterly Report to the Management Committee and SHR Charter Reports
Stock Quality - My role as Head of Housing Services included managing the Asset Management, Repairs & Maintenance and Housing Management teams to ensure that our stock was well maintained and that both internal and external improvements were carried out timeously. I analysed our stock condition survey information which resulted in me producing three, five and thirty year investment projections for the Association.
Tenant and Resident Safety - I had overall responsibility for Safety issues within Southside over a wide range of maintenance and investment services delivered to our customers, including gas, electricity, smoke alarms, lifts, windows and much more to ensure our properties and surrounding areas were safe. I reported quarterly to our Management Committee on safety matters and the successful delivery of safety improvement contracts
Data Analysis - An important part of my management role was to analyse data so as to improve service delivery, communications with customers, performance, financial management and Association priorities. I used a wide range of tools including in-house Management Systems, SHR Charter Reports, Tenant Satisfaction Surveys, Stock Condition Surveys and Benchmarking information.

I had overall responsibility to manage all Housing Management, Investment and Tenant Participation functions within my area of operation in Maryhill. My biggest achievement during this period was to make the argument for much needed investment in the area which resulted in successful improvement contracts including new lifts, new windows, new controlled entry doors and environmental improvements.

I work as an Advocate and represent and give a voice to vulnerable people with mental, physical and learning disabilities to deal with issue based challenges. The majority of my cases thus far are housing related, although I am also helping people with NHS and Social Service issues.
