Having run a business with my husband for 11 years I feel I have developed many skills that can be used in future.
The business was a small community convenience store along with a bed and breakfast accommodation.
This involved me dealing with every aspect of the businesses from beginning to end. I dealt with customers, suppliers and accountants. I completed all the financial tasks from cashing up and banking through to meetings with the accountant for the end of year.
This has given me strong organisational skills and keen understanding of customer service.
I have good communication skills with a good telephone manner, I am organised and methodical but also able to switch tasks when necessary.
I have strong bookkeeping skills as well as payroll, VAT, banking, reconciliations and liaising with accountants.
I am accurate and attentive for reliable recordkeeping and reporting. Being self employed in the past I am self-motivated and organised for productive independent working.
