Affiliations

  • I enjoy reading for enjoyment and learning.
  • When my children were younger i was involved with the Scout Association for 8 years as a beaver Leader.
  • I have recently been able to undertake my own wellness recovery action plan and then co facilitate a wrap as a volunteer.

Accomplishments

I was awarded the Chief Scouts 5 years Award in January 2018. I was involved in all aspects of scouting such as camp, cooking, looking after the children at events, helping the children to earn badges, adapting learning to suit each individual child so they could acheive their badges and were included.

During my time at Ingrow Primary School I was responsible for looking after a child from Year 2 until they went to Secondary School who has cerebal palsy at a lunchtime.

Custom

I was involved in Project 6 for 11 years as a service user, volunteer and then a paid worker. I have been sober for nearly 6 and a half years from alcohol. I enjoy helping others to reach their goals and share my recovery journey.

I also experience various mental health conditions such as CPTSD and BPD. When my son was born in 2003 i ended up spending 3 months on the psychiatric local unit because of post natal depression and through cbt and psychotherapy I came through this. Unfortunately in 2005 my middle son had no kidneys so I had to end the pregnancy at 21 weeks. Fortunately I had my daughter in 2007 and experienced post natal depression again. Ive been fortunate to experience various treatments some which have been helpful and some not. I enjoy being able to share with others my recovery journey.
