Experience in University and within the community

Decomposition in Aquatic Environments experiment, in the field over a period of two months. In this time i performed data collection, data analysis, result interpretation and documentation. Within my course many crime scenes were investigated such as a burglary/murder where a Scene Strategy Plan was prepared and executed. Evidence gathering, collection and packaging exhibits were undertaken using correct personal protective equipment at all times and abiding by health and safety guidelines and abiding by health and safety guidelines. Knowledge into the Forensic Science Regulator and Forensics accreditation (UKAS). ISO/IEC 17020 crime scene examination and ISO/IEC 17025 general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories were learnt. Risk Assessments were completed before, during and after entering scenes. Laboratory experience was obtained over three years when conducting DNA and fingerprint enhancement, entomology research and anthropology advancements. Understanding in the submission of valuable exhibits to enhance the investigation and secure conviction. Experience within the local Crown court observing and documenting how the Criminal justice system implements charges and convictions depending on the crimes committed.
