  • Took responsibility for my own learning and development through completing a 3 year training programme, comprising of four rotations including cardiac science, electrocardiogram, respiratory & sleep science, and vascular science. This was combined with an academic programme at master's (MSc) level over the three year programme.
  • Independently carry out a range of diagnostic test through working directly with patients. This included performing ECG's, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, ambulatory ECG analysis, and ETT tests.
  • To work alongside “expert” cardiac physiologist & consultant cardiologists in the completion of highly complex diagnostics & interventions. This included assisting in TOE, DSE and contrast studies, bubble, ILR procedures, and being competent in a range of Cath lab interventions.
  • Acquire and maintain a high level of professional competence in the performance of all tests, investigations and measurements carried out.
  • Interpret and act upon results of tests, investigations and measurements in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and quality systems.
  • Participate in internal and external audit processes and quality systems.
  • Assist with supervision and training of new staff members, students and participate in departmental meetings to disseminate knowledge acquired through research and to stay up-to-date with newest guidelines.
  • Perform accurate and reproducible standard and advanced echocardiographic measurements to departmental and relevant society standards/guidelines. (Currently progressing through BSE accreditation).
  • Communication and interpretation of complex clinical, scientific and technical information to a wide range of people including clinicians, managers, patients and the public.
