I was a freelance video editor for Play Virtuoso, a music company that specialises in creating course content for musicians. I was given the role of social media content editor, in which I was responsible for cutting down lengthy raw footage, choosing what is most important and eye-catching, and editing it into a TikTok to advertise the courses. This job included:

• Taking a brief and understanding the expectations of the client and the team.
• Reviewing raw material and determining what is best for advertisements and social media.
• Manipulating film and video footage using Premiere Pro and InDesign, using modern editing techniques to achieve professional standards.
• Trimming footage, moving it around, and seeing what works best.
• Inserting appropriate music, dialogue, sound effects, special effects, and graphics.
• Transcribing audio to text and subtitling each video, matching it perfectly to the timing of the speech.
• Understanding that I may have to re-edit content and taking critique professionally.
• Evaluated and selected scenes for pacing, entertainment value and continuity, trim shots and edit content.
• Delivered edits with multiple camera angle choices, titles, graphics, audio and special effects.
• Partnered with colorists and sound artists to develop look and feel of each asset.

Alongside completing my degree, I was a freelance video editor for Social Drive UK, a leading dentistry company. I was responsible for editing YouTube content for dentist clients, liaising with them and my team to ensure that professional, unique, and eye-catching content was created. This job included:

• Transcribing audio to text for subtitles, matching every word with the speech and breath and using correct spelling and grammar to achieve this.
• Editing chatty videos, Q+A's, interviews, tutorials, and advertisements.
• Creating logos using InDesign, adding social media handles and icons.
• Choosing appropriate graphics and video special effects and transitions and applying them with care and detail.
• Searching through music and choosing sounds that are exciting, trendy, and appropriate.
• Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence.
