Welcomed prospective students to the college campus and completed detailed documents on the database prior to their enrolement. Accuracy and confidentiality were key. In addition, I maintained up-to-date office databases through meticulous record-keeping, whilst adhering to quality control processes for data integrity.

Handled cash and card transactions with accuracy. Proactively replenished stock on shop floor and processed in-store collections. A key task was to engage with customers in a professional and polite manner to enhance their shopping experience and offer advice. Product labelling and pricing were also part of my role, whilst complying with company policies and procedures.

During my work experience week in Year 12, I interviewed employees within the business to gain a broader understanding of their roles and responsibilities and how they collaborated to ensure smooth operation. The departments participating were marketing, sales (validation and management), internal and external communications, HR and admin. To expand my business knowledge, I attended board meetings and particularly enjoyed a workshop on BT's apprenticeship framework.

During this placement, I attended meetings with directors and clients, observing team communication and office operations. I was tasked with proofreading website content and was complimented on my attention to detail. Asset creation and marketing strategy were among the new skills I learnt.

In this role, I learnt how to work under pressure and maintain high customer service at all times. Gaining confidence and experience was a good first step into the workplace.
