My role as sales team leader has allowed me to take on various different types of responsibilities, including briefing the team in terms of the progression of sales and allocating targets to the members of staff. This role also meant that I had to take into consideration the different strategies to further develop the progression of the store. As result of undertaking the role of sales team leader, shows my capability to manage the store effectively. My effective management is displayed through my ability to put my knowledge of ocular dispensing into practice and carry out lab performance but also managing the shop floor and driving my team to achieve their individual targets.
The experience of working in this company for four years I have been able to learn many things to take upon and instill within myself for future reference. I have had the ability to establish rapport with patients and customers, determining their needs and wants, and being able to sell, illustrating, and demonstrating the use of optical product. I have also the ability to analyse and interpret prescriptions along with knowing how to respond to patient complaints. Developing my skills in the company I was able to be in a leadership role which involved communicating with team members and how we can progress the sales and meeting the target requirements. The main objective was the customer satisfaction and how to please customer needs, but at the same time also had other duties, such as conference call, NHS claims and patient records. In addition, I was travelling to different stores such as Aylesbury and Harlow twice a week to manage the branch and store performance.
