I hope to use my skills and experience to further influence growth and a good working environment within any job that I have. I believe with the variety of jobs I have had in the past I can bring a lot to a new work place as well as being able to adapt to the businesses needs. As I have passed my class 1 hgv license since August, I am now actively looking for a job opportunity within the lorry driving industry so that I can start to get some experience and a feel for what the role is.
Main roles at SJG include the safely collection and delivery of containers from southampton Docks to various delivery points across south and the midlands of the UK. Making sure that routes are carefully planned and timely deliveries are achieved, taking travel time and traffic into consideration. Daily vehicle checks and records of any issues found.
As a first HGV driving job, Brakes have provided an amazing and extensive training, both in the classroom and out on the road, ranging from manual handling, to vehicle checks, to driving out on the road and carrying out all sorts of manouvers to delivery points. I have been safely transporting goods to various delivery points, such as restaurants, schools, hospitals nd much more by adhering to uk regulations and safety rules. I have kept accurate records of my driving hours and working hours on my tachograph on a day to day basis. Used a work handheld device to follow accurate planned routes to my drop points and achieving timely deliveries.
At the warehouse we have the responsibility to make sure that all equipment used by us is up to health and safety standards, and used accordingly to tesco regulations.
My main duties are to pick products in their correct places within the warehouse by using a mechanical truck.
I also have the resonsibility to communicate with management of any defect products or equipment to avoid any accidents or sending items to stores that are below standards.
My main responsibility at Wagamama was to make sure that shifts would run as smoothly as possible, with such a big team and restaurant it is a big task to make sure that nothing goes wrong. One of my key duties was also to keep a good working atmosphere within all the team and make sure everyone is happy and performing to their best capabilities. Money handling and business improvements is also a big part of wagamama, such as marketing. This could include sampling wagamama products in big southampton events, or simply handing some of our products to other busineses with publicity in mind.
At franco I have built and managed to keep excelent working relationships with both the front of house and kitchen team, further improving on my communication skills and understanding both parties. I have aquired more knoweledge about stock control and how to further improve a working environment to minimise waste within a business. One of my biggest lessons at Franco is that teamwork is one of the most important things in a job place, and with everyone working together tasks and jobs that may seem difficult, quickly become easy.
My roles as assistant manager were revolved around evaluating staff performance, implementing suitable training and development techniques to maintain the best service levels possible. Helping the manager with stock management, including counting and ordering. Preparing rotas for members of staff in accordance to business needs and expectations.
Addressing customer issues in a calm manner, as well as coming out with solutions on the spot for such issues.
Cooperating with employers in weekly business meetings to come up with ideas and solutions in how to improve the business in order to both benefit the customers and the business.
I have worked both in Lyndhurst and Lymington branches as well as doing covers in a few others if needed. As a restaurant supervisor I manage team members during shifts. Manage the restaurant in a way to make sure the restaurant reaches target sales compared to weekly/monthly budget. Place orders and supervise deliveries. Support the manager in their duties such as training new staff and dealing with compliance paperwork. Count and control all stock in the restaurant on a weekly basis. During my time at Prezzo I have had to e-mail various companies to deal with the different situations happening within the restaurant such as e-mailing IT support, cloudFM ( consultant for Facilities Management & Planned Maintenance Services ) etc. Prezzo is a great place to work in where everyday is different and you've always got something to look forward to like making your customers happy.
