  • I am currently responsible for the People Operations team, which is made up of 4 members of staff. My role comprises of overseeing the team in ensuring all queries are responded to and employee relations are handled correctly. My role also includes overseeing Payroll issues which fall under the People Operations remit and ensuring all processes are carried out properly.
  • As the Manager, I am the first point of contact for all complex employee relations queries and the main point of contact for all Senior Managers, to speak with about issues in their departments and talking about resolving issues.
  • I am responsible for overseeing policy changes, implementing projects and play a large role in the management of our French employee relations issues including being the employee rep on their CSE meetings.
  • Farrow and Ball is a luxury paint and wallpaper company who is based in Dorset. Employing over 500 staff worldwide, this role looks after all staff from support staff and factory staff onsite to all staff based in the Showrooms across the UK, US, Canada and Europe.

  • This role had the main focus of looking after all employee relations cases that came through which were wide ranging in terms of seniority and type. As well as processing all disciplinary and grievance matters, this role also covered maternity / paternity /adoption leave and looked after absence reporting. This role looked after all countries which includes the US, Canada, France and Germany. Until 2020, the role also focused on recruitment across the Company; placing vacancies and advising Managers on the recruitment process and assisting with interviews.

  • Acting as the deputy HR Manager, I grew and developed this role, achieving a promotion in 2014 after running the department single handed for a period of 3 months. Up until July 2019, I had full responsibility for all aspects of the human resources life cycle and recruited and line managed a Human Resources Co-ordinator and Recruitment Officer. In the last two months of the role, due to the re-structure of the department, I was promoted to role of Wellbeing and Diversity Manager which focused on staff wellbeing and ensuring staff diversity. In the 7 years working at Ravensbourne I was responsible for the following:
  • Employee Relations
  • Handling a variety of employee relations casework matters, providing effective advice and guidance to managers as well as following through with associated administration. Cases include but are not limited to dismissal, disciplinary, grievance and sickness cases
  • Sickness Absence Reporting
  • Preparation and dispatch of monthly managers’ sickness absence reports as well as quarterly and annual reports which went to the Board and internal committees
  • Provision of guidance to Managers concerning individual cases and attending sickness review meetings

  • Developing and progressing the Institution’s Equality Agenda
  • Contributing to the process of reviewing staffing policies, procedures and practices, taking lead responsibility for the completion of associated Impact Assessments and consultation with staff
  • Conducting one-to-ones review meetings with disabled staff. Liaising with appropriate colleagues outside of HR to co-ordinate the implementation of identified reasonable adjustments
  • Taking responsibility for the co-ordination and implementation of the annual wellbeing provision for staff

  • I set up the Social and Charity Committee and chaired this for 3 years

  • Whilst the majority of these tasks were completed by the HR Co-ordinator/Recruitment Officer, I had overall responsibility of the full recruitment lifecycle including acting as the main HR point of contact for any staff visa queries. I was responsible for the sponsorship of staff on Tier 2 visas and in relation to Home Office inspections where this relates to staff. I had responsibly for updating the Sponsorship Management System as a Level 2 User and ensuring DBS checks have taken place

My duties included recruitment, training and leavers.
