6+ Years Working in a high turnover Acute Care Emergency Department caring for both Critically & Chronically ill patients. Practising as a Triage Nurse for the last 4 years. In my role I exercise time sensitive clinical decision making skills and critical thinking competencies to provide immediate & ongoing emergency care to patients in the ED.

• Rapid Triage assessment of Patient's presenting complaints, assigning an acuity level and directing the patient to the appropriate location & resources

• Monitoring of Ventilated patients to ensure adequacy of Ventilation
• Preparation & set up of Inter hospital Transportation of critically ill patients
• Extensive knowledge of wound management.
• Management & administration of IV Therapy for Critically patients
• Collection & Interpretation of 12 lead ECG. Monitors, interprets and evaluates patient test results.
• Blood sampling, IV Cannula insertion & management of Drains
• Highly experienced in working with a broad range of chronic conditions such as COPD, Diabetes, Asthma, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, Dementia, Mental Health Conditions, arthritis, Crohn's, Bowel Disease, Cancers & other Neurological Illness.
• Educated patients on good health, providing leaflets and verbal guidance on improved wellbeing measures.
• Advised on dietary, nutrition and illness prevention.
• Quickly responded to medical emergencies, working calmly and professionally under pressure.

Attesting to The RAF Reserve in Nov 2014 I completed Basic Recruit Training in Feb 2015 and passed out as an Adult Nurse. In May 2016 I completed my Aeromedical Evacuation Training and was awarded the annotation of Medical|FN|RAF. Progression in 2017 saw me complete The RAF Junior Management & Leadership course (JMLC). Managed daily operations in theatre across multiple specialities, including Orthopaedics and ENT.

• Delivered safe and effective management of operating lists to ensure optimal flow.
• Prepared Endoscopy Suite and equipment for planned lists, ensuring readiness.
• Executed planned Endoscopy lists, overseeing patient assessments and post-operative care.

6 weeks Spent assisting the Medical Officer Health Screening candidates at the Army Recruitment Centre. Here I conducted assessments daily including Hearing, sight, Cardiac and Pulmonary Function tests.

Graduating in 2001 my 1st post was in the Theatre Department of Whiteabbey Hospital. Here I trained as an Anaesthetic Nurse and became a member of the Emergency Theatre Team, joining the on call rota.

• Responded to the Anaesthetic needs of patients and coordinated in providing care
• Assessing patient immediately prior to Induction of Anaesthesia
• Assisted in the administration of Anaesthesia, supporting the Anaesthetist by implementing the planned anaesthetic technique and Checking of equipment.
• Ensuring adequate levels of Ventilation & Haemodynamic stability of patients
• Collaborated emergent airway management
• Preparing Emergency Airway equipment & executing Emergency Drills when required.
• Delivered Emergency Endoscopic procedures.
• Assisting in the safe transfer of patients to the PACU, CCU, ICU, HDU or Inter Hospital Transfer
• Worked closely with fellow nurses, doctors and clinicians for consistent communication and continued best care practices.
• Active member of the Surgical on call Emergency team for 7 yrs. A small team of 3 Nurses that would respond rapidly to Surgical emergencies. This role required flexibility as the demands of a small team meant that members have the ability to work in all 3 areas: Anaesthetics, Scrub and recovery.
