Having spent several years in the United Kingdom, I have developed a strong adaptability that allowed me to improve myself as an individual in very high pressure situations necessary for effective team management. I developed strong principles that became vital in my professional character. I firmly believe that the United Kingdom offers the ideal environment for me to succeed in oral healthcare and provide me with the superior education and opportunities that would change my life.
I graduated MA in Hotel Management in one of the most prestigious universities of Romania and I was always exposed to a multicultural environment so I have a strong foundation of academic skills. I always had a desire to explore the world and challenge myself and I think that my profound passion for anatomy has to progress in Uk, analysing the shortage of staff in NHS dental sector.
Before coming to Uk, I went back my to my old passion and I completed one year of nursing and gained practical experience at the Emergency Department of the Hospital Spiridon from Iasi. In my second year of nursing studies, I was looking forward to gaining access to the surgery room but the opportunity to come to the United Kingdom before Brexit took full effect and I realised I am embracing more the culture of this country. In my current job, I had the role of being first aider for a team of 30 people, which required me to provide support and empathy in high stress situations, working in a very busy environment where multiple accidents happened.
I have a keen interest in Dental Hygiene and the application of lasers in this dentistry. Exploring how technologies can improve the future of dental system has been a strong interest of mine. During my travels and being surrounded by medicine students in the city where I studied I realised that dental therapy should not be associated with pain or anxiety and people should be more educated about dental health.
In my current job I obtained the Health and Safety level 2 course certification that required the essential knowledge and skills related to health and safety practices understanding different protocols and regulations that reflects my dedication to maintaining safe work environments.
My biggest challenge was working 12- hour shifts during the pandemic surrounded by elderly individuals that required empathy, patience during a time of crisis.
I applied to City College with an academic goal in mind. Even if my previous studies were towards social sciences, I think that the Science course is a strong foundation for my educational future.
As hobbies or interests, I always had a passion about psychology, how human behaviour works so while I studied my Bachelor degree, I obtained the psycho-pedagogic module that enables me to teach in secondary education.
