“Alex is confident, outgoing, helpful, likeable, willing, adaptable, easygoing, enthusiastic and productive.” This is how my current co-workers have described me in a professional environment, as well as in a personal manor. Within the first week of me becoming 16 I acquired my first job as a retail and sales assistant at sports direct; following this I acquired my current job as a receptionist at Sopers House Ltd I have consistently proven too be extremely proficient in sales, as well showing myself too be extremely able whilst acting in a managerial position. Whilst dealing with a diverse range of clientele, I’ve shown my adaptability too high pressure situations due too the fact I am the leading member of staff on site, ‘putting out fires’ whilst also dealing with my usual duties. Whilst working as receptionist, I’ve sold memberships and merchandise up too prices of £1000 multiple times throughout eight hour shifts, Ive also had wider exposure too the rest of the business, meaning I’ve had to act managerially, being in charge of other staff members and making largely important decisions in tense situations. Through these duties I’ve honed and developed a true apathy for sales and leadership.
As a 17 year old, I believe I have instilled a deep sense of discipline and motivation in myself through the various challenges I have faced throughout the multiple facets of my life has made me as determined as physically possible too shine in the world of business, particularly in a management or sales role. Furthermore, public speaking is a skill that throughout my role as a receptionist I have honed, as speaking to large audiences of customers and potential stakeholders has been a regular occurrence, and something I’ve grown confident in as well as developing the skill to a higher level.
