Responsibilities:

The technical management of cutting edge thermal management products from initial concept through to production ready products. Acting as assistant chief engineer, providing technical oversight, product strategy, requirement, design, and testing. Management of customer and stakeholder expectations.

Key Highlights:

• Directed company involvement in European Clean Aviation Consortium. Next-generation hydrogen-fuelled aircraft. Including technical governance, line management of engineering team, scheduling, work package breakdown, manufacturing definitions, and stakeholder reviews.
• Successfully delivered new rapid product and prototype build techniques for micro-tube heat exchangers, allowing agile (fail fast) techniques, improving time to market by 75%.
• Facilitated overall product strategy, and targeted market entry for high temperature heat exchangers and pre-coolers.

Overseeing initial design activities for customer bids and proposals, responsible for the development of products and supporting systems goals. Utilising advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.

Key Highlights:

• Innovated revolutionary solid fuel hydrogen cell technology. Producing hydrogen in a controlled manner, on demand, from hydrogen-rich compounds, not requiring pressure vessels or high temperatures.
• Innovation & Imagination Award 2021 for the use of topological optimisation techniques in the housing of electronics.
• Trouble shooting for wider business on engineering failures or project roadblocks.
• Named inventor/co-inventor on 8 patents.

Responsibilities:

Leading a team of engineer developing new low voltage power distribution products for aerospace sector. Project planning, requirements management, verification & validation, testing and manufacturing strategy.

Key Highlight:

• Slashed labour and error rates by driving design team to utilise design for manufacture techniques on Boeing 777 primary power distribution panels. Including scheduling, work package breakdown, FMEA/risk management, manufacturing definitions, qualification testing and design verification, vendor management, and customer-facing reviews.

Responsibilities:

Mechanical design of new telecommunication equipment, analysis (CFD & FEA), testing and DFM.

Key Highlights:

• Delivered 3G micro telecommunication product from conception to production readiness, on time and within budget. Project managed team of inter-disciplined engineers, setting work packages, reviewing work progress, and providing performance feedback for team members.
• Innovated new 19-inch data cabinet with an integral swing frame, which resolved the problems presented by the severe footprint and volume constraints, previously thought to be unsolvable. This was delivered on time and under budget, with over 4,000 units sold, and no field returns or issues.

Responsibilities:

Design of new heat management products, CFD analysis, design and implementation of production lines.

Key Highlights:

• Designed and introduced new product ranges, encompassing progression press tooling, extrusion, and cross-cutting techniques.
• Implemented new production lines and techniques into the company to improve run-times, and introduced new technologies, expanding the product range. First use of heat-pipes in Dell computers.
