Summary

I am a determined student, goal-oriented and result driven. I am seeking a valuable work experience in the field of engineering in order to get to know the industry from the inside. Currently, I am learning what it is like to become an engineer through university lectures, site visits and laboratory sessions, where theoretical knowledge is used to solve real-life engineering problems. My next step would be to introduce myself to the world of real-life projects and outstanding solutions that engineers from all over the United Kingdom could present. My passion is to get to know the processes, see for myself the chain of thinking behind each project and submerge myself into real work that I will truly face after graduation from one of the best Universities in the UK.

  • At Cardiff Sixth Form College, I was fortunate to get my first work experience at CMB Engineering company
  • There I was introduced to risk assessment and management by inspecting fire safety systems at the company office and defining critical requirements for them
  • In addition, being a part of an Interior Designers of Equipment team, my task consisted of using AutoCAD to draw a new boiler room layout for Cardiff City Stadium that would be more energy and water efficient
  • As a result of this work experience, I have learned what is it to be a part of an engineering project as well as gained and developed a lot of skills that will benefit me in the future to lead projects towards success.

Additional Information

Apart from my formal education in civil engineering, I have a strong interest in water engineering and resource management. I actively seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge in these areas by regularly reading peer-reviewed papers and books. Through this self-directed study, I have gained a better understanding of these fields and remain up-to-date with the latest research and developments. Beyond my academic pursuits, I have interests in mountain skiing and mountain biking. Participating in these activities has not only helped me maintain a healthy work-life balance, but has also developed valuable skills that I believe will be of benefit in any professional setting, including teamwork, discipline, and adaptability.
