Race Engineer for FIA European truck racing team at championship rounds. Responsible for assisting with maintenance and on track performance improvements.

This role included lots of travelling and working with team members/officials from many different countries and backgrounds.

Enhanced relationships with marketing partners, including major corporate firms.

CAD designed, fabricated and constructed 1.5:1 scale (1200mm wide) replica vintage locomotives to a high level. Full restoration and customisation of Vintage and classic commercial vehicles to a very high standard. Designed and undertook complicated fabrication modifications/repairs for both industrial machinery and commercial fleet vehicles.

Workshop management role. Maintaining H&S standards, sourcing materials and parts, maintaining relations with suppliers and planning work. Assisted the transport department with multiple tasks including break down problem solving and designed improvements to the fleet of specialist vehicles to improve usability, longevity and capacity.

Responsible for all management tasks involved in organising the smooth running of a Truck racing team in both European and British competitions. Working with suppliers to source all the unique parts and materials required to build and maintain racing trucks.

Chief engineer duties: Managing a small team of mechanics, providing the direction for race truck performance changes and ensuring reliability.

Maintenance and construction of racing vehicles, team transporter vehicles and race weekend setup equipment.

Managed the temporary partnership during 2018 and 2019 between Janes Trucksport and Buggyra Racing. I was predominantly based in Prague, Czech Republic, learning Czech language skills and building relationships with our partners.

Chief mechanic during this period at both the race weekends and post race workshop based service work.

Race engineer at Formula ford and GB4 championship races. Working as the chief and sole mechanic on one of multiple cars within a large team. Responsible for all mechanical preparation and repair duties during a race weekend.

Working successfully and effectively within a larger team of mechanics, achieving numerous race wins and championship victories during this period. Overcoming long unsociable hours and constant setbacks. Permanently working to tight deadlines to ensure race cars are ready for the next scheduled session.
