After one year of my apprenticeship with Aldi, I was offered a Deputy Manager position in one of the highest sales stores in the region circa. 450k per week. This was due to my outstanding performance during my apprenticeship. My duties included opening and closing the store, Inventory Management, Waste procedures, Cash handling and banking procedures. Managing large groups of team members to work harmoniously whilst adhering to Aldi's philosophy of sustainability and and putting the team and customers at the forefront of everything we do. I also worked in the Imperial Park branch as a Deputy Manager from September 2022 to February 2024. I left on maternity to have my son.
As an apprentice, I quickly learnt how to effectively work with my team and foster strong work relationships among my colleagues. I was taught my job role and was expected to carry out my tasks diligently to keep in time with the fast paced environment of Aldi. Working as an apprentice strengthened my understanding of business operations, helping me work towards my goal of moving higher in the managerial ranks. The work was hands on, I adjusted quickly with a positive can do attitude and learnt how to manage a shop floor, check stock rotation, check inventory, converse in a polite and professional manner with customers and operate the tills.
