I am a 23 year-old enthusiastic and driven sports coach with extensive hands-on experience coaching youth basketball at club and regional levels. Progressed from placement coach to head coach, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and player development skills. Qualified in basketball coaching, first aid, and safeguarding, with a clear passion for developing athletes, building positive team cultures, and delivering engaging, structured training environments. Overall, I am committed to continuous personal development, with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to learning and progression.
Whilst studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University, I undertook placement during my second and third year. For my placement, coached the u14 boys Basketball Team for the majority of the season, gaining a Level 1 and 2 Basketball Coaching Qualification as well as both First Aid and Child Safety qualifications with them. This involved attending weekly sessions and games, allowing me to better my coaching skills to ensure the team were improving each week. I have gained skills like professionalism and working with other coaches too. After completing my placement, I was given a job within the club, and now Head Coach the u16 Boys team at a National League Level, as well as this I also assist with the u13 Basketball Wales National League Hub
Volunteered as a Basketball Development Officer on a community project in Zambia, supporting the delivery of structured and inclusive sports sessions for children and young people. Worked closely with local coaches and volunteers to promote participation, teamwork, and personal development, while adapting activities to suit different abilities and limited resources. Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and cultural awareness while contributing positively to community engagement and sustainable programme development.
As a bartender, I would pour beverages for the many Cardiff Blues fans attending the game, whilst ensuring both organisation and speed were used. I used my customer service skills to ensure the attending fans were happy and satisfied. As most of the game were at night, this meant I would participate in late night shifts, maintaining the skills throughout the time period. Whilst working at Cardiff Arms Park, I had developed many skills such as customer service, speed, working under pressure etc
Whilst working at Luvyababes, my job role meant that I would work on the shop floor, on the till, as well as in the storage rooms. Mostly being on the shop floor, I would ensure every customer that arrived into the store was greeted happily and that their needs were attended. This meant that I had to have good customer service and communication skills to ensure the customers left happy and satisfied. Certain tasks on the shop floor were price tagging, shelving stock, shelf organisation, ensuring everything is neat and presentable.
During my time at PGL, I was trained and led many activities such as Zipwire, Sensory Trail, Orienteering, Archery, Team Games, Problem Solving, Challenge Course and Raft Build. I am also Water Safety trained. As well as this, for two weeks, I was put on the Night Shift, which included looking after the children, ensuring they went to sleep on their allocated times, making sure they took their medication if needed and I had to stay awake for around 10 hours each night until my shift was over.
