Summary

I am currently a teaching assistant but I am eager to finally fulfil a role as a class teacher through supply work, I have a true passion for teaching and I'd love the opportunity to have a positive impact on children’s learning experiences, providing an enthusiastic, engaging and supportive classroom environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential. I have strong knowledge of working with children in EYFS and KS1 and would like the opportunity to continue building on my own practice to be the best teacher I can be to provide children with an enriched learning experience through supply, working with a range of different schools and classes.

Work history

Teaching Assistant (Part-time)

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Safeguarding children and uploading all necessary incidents on CPOMS
  • Supporting children’s behaviour and implementing the relevant behaviour management strategies.
  • Leading interventions for a range of subjects, for both 1:1 and small group interventions across EYFS and KS1.
  • Setting the classroom in the morning and the end of the day as well as setting up continuous provision for the upcoming week and/or term.
  • Communicating with parents both in the morning and afterschool regarding any concerns and/or queries.
  • Greeting children at the door in the morning and been on the door at the end of the day for dismissal.
  • Playground duties and lunchtime dinner hall duties.
  • Monitoring student progress using both formative and summative assessment, supporting the class teacher to finalise and complete these assessments when needed.
  • Covering staff absences when needed, as I currently work part-time but work full-time when the opportunity arises.
  • Administering first aid as and when needed and filling out the relevant paperwork.
  • Completing the relevant courses and CPD training.
  • Supporting the class teacher with things such as preparing resources, marking children’s work, uploading and filing previous work etc.
