  • I enjoy assisting RAF Cadets in developing their skills in networking and cybersecurity. I help guide them through practical lessons, explaining concepts like network protocols, security practices, and how to set up secure systems. It’s rewarding to see them gain confidence and knowledge in the IT field. As part of my hobby involves looking after the cadets' IT suite. I regularly check and maintain equipment, ensuring everything is up to date and functioning properly. This includes updating software, upgrading hardware when needed, and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise. I focus on teaching cadets how to identify and respond to security threats. I introduce them to common cyberattacks and the best practices for defending systems, from firewalls to secure passwords and encryption. I help cadets understand the fundamentals of networking, including setting up local area networks (LANs), managing IP addresses, and configuring routers and switches for optimal performance and security. This combination of teaching and hands-on technical support has been a fulfilling hobby for me, allowing me to give back to the RAF Cadets while deepening my own IT and cybersecurity knowledge.
