I thoroughly enjoy my role as a pharmacy assistant and have a range of different duties whilst at work. I always greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable healthcare advice and services to them always making sure to adhere to regulatory guidelines for safety and compliance purposes. In addition to this I process incoming medication orders, checking inventories for supply requirements and reordering stock as necessary.

Covid-19 Vaccinator

Within my role as a Covid-19 vaccinator I was responsible for administering vaccinations to patients from the age of 5. I was responsible for the disposal of sharps, clinical waste and changes of PPE (personal protective equipment) as per national guidelines. In addition to this I also recorded stock take and syringe counts. When new members of staff joined the team I was also a member of staff that would mentor these new members, ensuring safe practice and patient centred care.

As a team we worked under adherence to infection control policies and also followed all protocols for safe and confidential record keeping. Whilst working within this role it was essential to maintain effective communication to all patients and other members of our multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that the patient is comfortable throughout the consultation. I have always worked with a person centred approach and if any queries arose this was always communicated with the patient and to registered health care professional who were apart of the multi-disciplinary team. This ensured the patient had the best outcome from the consultation and aloud for me to stay within my scope of practice.

Due to the vaccination centres demand during the Covid-19 Pandemic often I would work in a fast-paced environment, this is something which I thrived on and I always worked with energy and enthusiasm. Allowing me to Build and maintain courteous and effective working relationships.

Domiciliary Care Worker

When working within this role it was my responsibility to assist clients with personal care and hygiene which ranged from bathing and toileting whilst always promoting dignity and independence. I would also, Administer medications, Prepare a range of meals for clients, including nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner, following individual dietary requirements. This role also included assisting clients to attend medical appointments and picking up prescriptions. I also helped clients to maintain their quality of life and independence by conducting physical activities and assisted with household tasks and shopping calls to keep living areas presentable, clean and hygienic for clients whilst also ensuring there was meals in clients houses.

Liaising with the District nursing team was also another aspect of my role and it was important to communicate any changes to the clients health or wellbeing to the district nursing team. In addition to this I made appointments through the patients GP, if required. Within this role I promoted independence as much as possible and provided companionship. This role required lone working in patients homes, as well as working with another member of the team if a call required moving and handling.

Waitress

Within my role at farmer Fred's I was a waitress and also hosted children's birthday party's. I always made sure to attended to customer's needs proactively for a good service. I done this by Greeting customers, presented menus and shared information about available special items.


It was also vital to Inform kitchen staff regarding special order requirements. In addition I translated customer requests clearly to kitchen staff to meet specific dietary needs and preferences.


Regarding the children's party aspect of the role I assisted in setup and tear down of decorations, ensuring attention to detail throughout every event. In addition also tended to guests throughout event to support consistent satisfaction and enjoyment. Lastly I hosted and guided party activities, maintaining high energy and enthusiasm.

Lastly maintaining customer happiness with forward-thinking strategies focused on addressing needs and resolving concerns.
