I am a dedicated and highly motivated graduate with a strong academic foundation in Politics from the University of Glasgow and a current MSc candidate in Political Science and Political Economy at the London School of Economics (LSE). My academic journey has helped me develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills, especially through in-depth engagement with political theory, institutional analysis, and the application of econometrics to explore global economic and political trends. At LSE, I am heavily focused on quantitative analysis, leveraging tools such as R to interpret complex data sets. Additionally, my coursework in Game Theory has provided me with tools to work through problem sets that require strategy-based decision-making.
I am currently in the midst of a six-week investment research internship at Walter Scott & Partners. This experience has been invaluable in beginning to understand the intricate and dynamic nature of the asset management industry. The team at Walter Scott provided us with rigorous training in equity research execution, including comprehensive guidance on the platforms used for analysis. This included introductions to Bloomberg and spreadsheet modeling, all aimed at preparing us to deliver a stock pitch at the conclusion of our six-week placement with the firm.
Sustainability Europe 2024
Through the Green Finance Society at LSE, I was able to take part in the amazing opportunity to volunteer at the Sustainability Europe 2024 conference in London. This event drives action within the finance community. Over the two-day event, I was involved in note-taking and summarising designated sessions while having the invaluable opportunity to gain insights into corporate sustainability.
Wildlife Conservation Project 2017
In 2017 I spent 6 weeks volunteering at a turtle sanctuary in Sri Lanka, aligning with my love for the environment as we regularly engaged in beach cleans, something I continue to be a part of in Scotland.
