My current ministry is chaplaincy within healthcare, which is done currently where I work as a nurse. I work full time in the chaplain role, whilst occasionally work as a nurse.
I visit patients and staff, giving pastoral care, sacramental care where needed.
The role includes baby blessings/baptisms and funerals where needed for the Hospital.
To be involved in teaching staff on the role of the chaplaincy service, to lead Holy Communion and other services as needed.

10 March 2019 Spent some time in seminary with the Roman Catholic Church, aged 16-18. Spent time in London, Switzerland and France, studied the French baccalaureate with them. I felt I was too young and wanted to gain more life experience. 1992-1994.

To support the work of the Pastoral, Spiritual and Religious Care Team. An autonomous, qualified practitioner the role is to seek out and respond to the pastoral, spiritual and religious needs of individuals, their carers and staff. In addition, the chaplain will also be expected to contribute to the out-of-hours on call rota including weekend cover. The Pastoral, Spiritual and Religious Care Team, of which the Chaplain will be a member, provides for the spiritual, religious and pastoral needs of patients, staff and visitors within the Trust.
Work alongside chaplaincy team providing spiritual and pastoral care to staff, relatives and patients. Develop skills in these areas.
Role covers being responsible for the constant monitoring of patient admissions, discharges, and the flow of people within the hospital.
First point of contact for outside agencies. Compiling reports for Trust and ICB/NHS England. Line manager for small team staff, which covers managing sickness, annual leave, appraisals. Part of the advanced life support team. Assisting Trust to manage staffing for the hospital. To help manage complaints.
Be the representative for the hospital when patients are sectioned.
Work autonomously assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating own workload as well as within a team. Manage the day-to-day operational issues of bed management, which influence the use of beds within the Hospital.
