Project : I worked as a Business analyst within MITIE, to deliver a cloud based HSE management system (Eco Online) to track incidents, Risk Assessment and Incident Management, Occupational Health, Compliance Management.

The project entailed updating the application , security updates, improved user experience and speed management (i.e. managing large data flow) for gateway application systems. I was responsible for deriving and documenting a framework for the implementation of changes and resolution of queries associated with the different application and system functionalities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engaged with the business at different levels in order to elicit business requirements which was gathered, interpreted and translated into technical documentation
  • Collaborated with the business development team including Functional Designers, Test Leads and Developers
  • Undertook a GAP analysis between the existing system and the to-be solution
  • Worked closely with the FD designers to design the solution
  • Identified all the business processes and mapped them out using Gap analysis of ‘AS IS' and ‘TO-BE' processes. I enquired into and understudied existing on-boarding process and practices in order to understand the processes and protocols within the business
  • Elicited and analyzed business needs and user needs (including functional & non-functional requirements) to produce high quality user stories that were written to a good standard and that the delivery team agreed that they met the definition of ready.

Project 1 : I implemented an HSE solution: Q-pulse to help improve quality, health, safety and compliance processes for Arik International Limited.

Project 2 : I facilitated the development of in-house CRS using in-house resources. The CRS (Central Reservation System) was used by the company to make reservations against airline inventory. The solution was chosen as a cost-effective option for a recovering airline and was developed to work in a unique environment and was deployed to travel agents to use to make reservations and perform a myriad of functions including but not limited to initiating refunds, cancellations and booking changes.

Project 3 : I delivered on the company's migration from Integral to Mercator. The project became essential when the company recovered financially and significantly increased fleet and inventory size. The growth mandated migration to a more robust booking and inventory solution that catered to the company's unique operating environment.

Key Achievement

  • Identified all the business processes and mapped them out using GAP Analysis and Document Analysis.
  • Utilized knowledge of industry trends to develop value-added solutions and approaches for target audiences.
  • I carried out a survey on a sample sized number of existing staff who use the current systems as to establish the 'To-Be' process
  • I worked in an Agile environment, where I assisted the scrum master in facilitating daily standup meetings, which did not exceed 15mins
