• Kruger Park Community Project Volunteer: Oct 2024 - Dec 2024 Raleigh International, Johannesburg As a dedicated Volunteer, I actively engaged with the community, contributing to various local initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing community welfare and development. My responsibilities included; • Organising events, coordinating with local organisations to ensure smooth delivery of services, and fostering relationships with community members to understand and address their needs effectively. • I also played a pivotal role in recruiting and managing other volunteers as a day leader, ensuring they were well-trained and motivated to fulfil their roles. • Additionally, I assisted in fundraising activities, helping to secure necessary resources to support community programmes. • My efforts were geared towards creating a positive impact and fostering a sense of unity and collaboration within the community.
• Cold Water Swimming- Stress Management. Positive for physical and mental health which is beneficial in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Through the Clinical Skills Experience in my undergraduate degree I have been to Belfast City Hospital in the Gastroenterology Ward. Some activities included:

• I followed the consultant doctor for a ward round understanding how each patient presents symptoms to disease differently, giving me an appreciation of patient perspective towards disease.
• Worked with nurses on the ward attending ill patients and examining for vital signs and the importance of bedside manners.
• Effectively communicating with patients so they are comfortable and content with the activities of the multi-disciplinary team,
• Adapting to a dynamic hospital schedule and prioritising patient concerns and safety above all else.

Volunteering every 2 weeks in the Children's Ward at Craigavon Area Hospital, I was frequently put in a highly demanding working environment to ensure all patients received quality care as often as possible. Other important roles include:

• Assisted children in the play area and helping in daily tasks such as feeding them meals, personal hygiene and other fun activities.

• Sustained a positive volunteer- patient relationship with all patients by effectively communicating with them to understand their specific needs or wants.

• Provided emotional support to patients and families during difficult times.
• Developed and maintained strong relationships with families to ensure ongoing support and trust.
