Work history

Teaching assistant

Bury Grammar Primary School
2022.06
  • I spent a week in a primary school helping students with their work and assisting teachers in clearing rooms out prior to a development project. I developed greater understandings of teaching as well as communicating and working with adults in a working environment.

Food and Bar Service

Mercure Norton Grange Hotel
2024.11 - 2025.03
  • I assisted in the food service during weddings and events, as well as being a waiter and working the bar during quieter hours. This taught me how to cope under pressure and act more professional where necessary, as well as providing me with a few months of bar experience.

Charity shop assistant

Bury hospice
2023.10 - 2024.03
  • In this role I tidied the shop floor with one other volunteer and managed the till. I learnt quickly what it is like as a cashier and enjoyed this role. I also tagged, steamed and hung clothes that were waiting to be put out on the shop floor. I learnt many key skills during my time here, and will apply these to the world around me.

Accomplishments

I was a part of the Combined Cadet Force from age 14 until i left sixth form, where i led parades, taught military knowledge and drill to the newer cadets and was promoted all the way to Cadet Company Sergeant Major. This developed my leadership skills, but i think helped push me to my limits the most and understand the true value of good teamwork and effective but efficient communication. In the time of cadets i completed the highest course available (the Master Cadet Course) after completing Junior and Senior Leadership Courses, and was awarded the Lord Lieutenants Award for Meritorious Service in the Cadets.

I was also a House Captain in my sixth form, where i led assemblies for the whole school, managed, organised and hosted events, and conferred with my House leader on the best way to move forward with the house in mind. This pushed my organisation skills as i worked this role alongside my Cadet position, and my academics.
