I am a hardworking, reliable and committed teacher. I am particularly proud of my success in building productive and respectful relationships with both pupils and colleagues which consistently results in strong support networks within the classroom and beyond. I continually strive to facilitate their academic, social and emotional development.
I teach Welsh to Key Stage 3 and 4, Agored Cymru to Key Stage 4, lead a successful Cross Country and Chess Club and have been a Year 7 and 10 Form Tutor. I've also taught Geography and English to Key Stage 3 for extended periods of multiple terms.
I provided general teaching cover to the school, Siarter Iaith involvement, conducted year 6 literacy assessments and run a sports club.
I led the marketing campaigns of the company by managing staff and budget to effectively reach targets and meet deadlines.
I effectively utilized the Royal ABC curriculum in my practice. This curriculum combines the English Curriculum with an Early Years Learning framework resulting in an evidence-based curriculum, specifically designed for young learners.
I worked effectively as part of a team to search for missing people and rescue those trapped on the coast; on cliffs, stuck in mud or in the water. We would also report and deal with pollution and other hazards.
My interests enhance and support my daily teaching practice; often resulting in me leading extracurricular activities. A current example of this would be my current competitive Ultramarathon and mountain running ventures laying the foundation for my coaching of the school’s cross country team. Previously this has enhanced leadership roles whilst involved in Duke of Edinburgh award expeditions at other schools. Furthermore, having been a martial artist for over twenty years and holding multiple Dan grades I’ve repeatedly had the opportunity to instill student discipline and respect; this practice has carried itself into the classroom and has repeatedly proven to be essential in the establishment of a positive and respectful classroom dynamic. Mostly, my interests allow me the opportunity to be a positive role model that leads as an example for effort driven results.
