  • As a bat surveyor I carried out bat emergence surveys with the use of visual identification, ultrasound detection and infrared camera recordings to accurately identify bat species.
  • During my time with Tetra Tech, I continued to develop my field survey skills and deepened my knowledge of bat ecology.

  • During my apprenticeship I planned and executed many events across North Ayrshire and was a valued member of the team.
  • I conducted a diverse range of surveys for the country park, BTO and SWT - including trees, bats, pollinators, birds and newt surveys.
  • I worked leading conservation volunteers, path stewards, community garden groups and junior rangers. I planned and executed my own guided butterfly walk that several families attended, where I offered insightful facts on butterfly conservation, creating a memorable experience for participants.
  • I also led a guided walk for investors of the Irvine Harbour redevelopment scheme, collaborating with a co-ranger to showcase the site’s ecological significance.
