Completed 6-weeks at Birmingham Children's Hospital as part of the neurosurgical physiotherapy team for my fourth clinical education placement.

Started this job in the summer holidays after completing A levels. Worked when possible at the restaurant when returning home from university in the academic breaks such as Christmas, Easter and summer.

I performed duties including:

• Completed restaurant closing duties, thoroughly cleaning, sanitising and laying up the tables ready for the next day.
• Warmly greeted guests upon arrival, showing them to their tables, hanging up their jackets, presenting them with menus and getting their drinks orders.
• Attended tables to check customer needs are met, promptly processing additional food and drink orders.
• Resolved guest complaints promptly and professionally, notifying restaurant management of concerns.
• Served meals and drinks with professionalism and skill, maintaining high presentation and quality standards.

Completed a morning session of hydrotherapy at West Wight Sports and Community Centre with a team of MSK physiotherapists. Shadowed three therapists during a number of both 1-1 and group sessions. I closely observed the team, asking questions as needed to enhance my knowledge and understanding of hydrotherapy.

Completed 6-weeks at Panel Croft Retirement Village as my second clinical education placement.

Completed 6 days of work experience shadowing the physiotherapy and occupational therapy teams at the hospice. These shadowing sessions were in the gym, outpatient clinics and within the inpatient unit. Observed physiotherapists during 1-1 gym sessions with both inpatients and outpatients and attended a home visit with an occupational therapist.

During this experience followed 4 patients from their initial presentation through to their recovery, closely observing the patients and healthcare professional interactions. Took notes on how multidisciplinary teams work together with communication and teamwork being key aspects of the job as a healthcare professional.

Worked as a pool lifeguard whilst completing my A-levels. Completed tasks such as:

• Patrolled pools, offering ongoing guidance to swimmers for guaranteed safety and security.
• Attended regular staff training to keep up to date with first aid, pool rescue and safety procedures.
• Thoroughly cleaned and sanitised changing rooms, toilets and showers regularly to ensure hygiene was kept to a high standard.
• Tested swimmers on their ability before allowing them in the deep end of the pool.
• Engaged and responded professionally to members of the public when asked questions regarding pool sessions activities.
• Worked as a team with other lifeguards on duty to ensure any concerns were dealt with promptly.

During the Covid-19 period, worked with a group of 'Island Ambassadors' to patrol the beaches and towns on the Isle of Wight ensuring the public and businesses were abiding by the government guidelines. Completed tasks such as:

• Making note of any places that were particularly busy and those that didn't have covid measures in place to feedback to those that would be able to challenge them on this.
• Spoke to members of the public, asking them what they thought of how covid measures were implemented within the towns and on the beaches.
• Completing daily surveys to send back to the council, including information such as how many people we saw at certain places and how and where the public had travelled from to get there.
