Undergraduate Dissertation on Syntactic Patterns in Malay Questions (Sept 2022 - June 2023)

  • Conducted a year-long investigation into the placement of the 'wh'-phrase in Malay questions, challenging a debated linguistic phenomenon of shifting wh-phrases that have been used to classify languages
  • Developed three qualitative questionnaires for native Malay speakers, collaborating on effective examples with my supervisor and encoding the findings of these surveys on Microsoft Excel
  • Achieved an overall Distinction for my essay and project


Designing UCL's Sustainable Marketplace (Jan 2023 - June 2023)

  • Collaborated within an interdisciplinary group of 5 within the Behavioural Innovations Society to design UCL's secondhand marketplace using behavioural economic models
  • Conducted qualitative and quantitative surveys, including an auto-ethnography, to understand the barriers and facilitators to secondhand shopping in first-year university students
  • Researched and evaluated previous designs of both university and virtual marketplaces, utilizing a literature review
  • Visualized data collected into tables that reflect behavioural models, designing accessible graphs to showcase our report to society stakeholders
  • Presented the findings from this project at UCL’s annual Applied Projects Symposium, where our findings were well-received by the committee and passed to the Student's Union to be implemented in the following year
