I am applying for this role to increase my own personal development and to try gain a Level 3 qualification in Residential childcare. I am dedicated and driven to ensure the best outcome for the children in a safe and supportive environment.
I currently work at AWW which is a residential care home for children who have suffered with trauma or exploitation. Working daily with children to teach life skills, support with education, monitoring health, managing medication, organising, cleaning, participating in activities and completing daily/weekly paperwork in a 2:1 staffing environment.
I worked in a busy school office where my day-to-day tasks include being the first point of contact for anyone calling or coming into the school, managing personal & the school emails, booking meetings, managing online communication systems including training staff, running the school calendar, updating the website, formatting monthly communication, liaise with kitchen staff around catering needs, invoices for school orders based on school finances, finance reports, communication with outside stakeholders, tracking and managing attendance of pupils and assisting in staff recruitment
In addition to my role, I was in charge of running the wrap around care club
I was also in charge of social arrangements and wellbeing team events.
I worked part time at McDonalds whilst at sixth form
My main responsibilities were customer service, food preparation, cleanliness and hygiene.
As my first place of paid employment this role taught me a lot of responsibility
Sorting new stock, assisting and serving customers, handling money and working on the till, taking profits to the bank and cleaning.
