Completed a 3 year apprenticeship with KAYMAC in July 2023. From there i carried out my class 4,3 and 2 diving courses with Seadog diving school in South Africa. Currently have 2 years experience with various inshore diving work including:

- inspections&surveys

- fouled props

- landing ships in dry docks

- installing concrete mats

- non destructive testing (UT)

-air lifting

-broco cutting

- welding anodes

- install and removal of limpet dams

- general cleaning

- use of various hydraulic and air tools

- maintenance of all diving equipment

A large bulk of the diving i have done has been in black water, which has driven me to get a thorough understanding of the layout, shape and size of certain structures in order to carry out reliable and efficient work. Although i have a planted position as a diver, i am often used on civils jobs, where i am able to drive plant machinery, and utilise my skills out of the water. All of this, along with my willingness to work away from home for long periods of time make me a very flexible and reliable worker.

for some of the time that i was an apprentice, I worked as a labourer with a neighbour on weekends alongside working with KAYMAC, this consisted of:

- upkeep of land (strimming, use of chainsaw to remove trees)

- digging and breaking out

- assistance in building a functioning cabin

- installing a wooden suspending bridge

- installing plumbing and electrics

- cutting and installing timber frame work

for my time here i worked only on saturdays, and every day through holidays. i would valet/detail cars to a high standard ready for customers to pick up their new cars. from time to time i would also be tasked with painting parts of the property.
