Due to my experience at the Indian where I had learnt and improved my culinary skills, I found it easy to quickly adapt to the larger kitchen at the alchemist. I started by doing prep and then quickly trained on fryers and larder learning the menu and proceeded to progress onto grill and window to be fully trained on all sections. I set up and broke down kitchen for service whilst maintaining cleanliness throughout service. I worked closely with front of house / servers to meet customers needs such as allergies or any dietary requirements / preferences. I have trained on environmental health checks such as temperatures and general kitchen admin.

Bay Island Voyages is a speed boat tour company based In Cardiff Bay. I started in the company doing sales where I would promote any trips that were running and persuade people in person who were visiting Cardiff bay to come on a boat trip. This job involved a lot of sales persuasion as many people I would speak to hadn't considered going on a boat trip and many needed to be persuaded to go on the trip, especially on days where the weather wasn't nice or on days where there weren't many people out in general. I was quickly recognised for my ability to sell and was made sales lead in the company. During my time at the company I was able to attend a few courses which have allowed me to gain qualifications such as Powerboat Level 2, VHF License, First Aid and Sea Survival.

I worked in a Costcutters owned by John Thomas & Sons LTD. Here I mainly worked at the tills where I spoke with customers and handled all the transactions. I assisted customers in finding any items or any complaints that they may have. I also briefed customers regarding any promotions. I handled all daily routine tasks such as newspaper returns, lottery ticket counts and any incoming phone calls to the store. When speaking with customers I am always energetic and positive which is reflected in the general response I would get from customers. Even in situations when dealing with a distressed customer I would maintain composure and calm them down before offering any solutions to the situation. As well as these responsibilities I also helped open and close the shop, stocking shelves and general cleaning.

Saagar Tandoori is an Indian takeaway in my home town Aberaeron. Here I learned to prepare vegetables and other foods ready for service. I also took orders and dealt with customers at the front of house. Other roles included kitchen porter. I had to maintain a clean environment and maintain a level of composure all in a high-stress environment. I also did a short online course in food and hygiene level 2.
