- Whilst working in Fast Technologies I have gained experience in building Battery Tripping units and control panels
- I have to liaise with my manager and receive a job folder which includes a specification a wiring schematic and also a parts list for the panel that I would have to build
- I am responsible for gathering the parts needed from the storeroom to build the panel.
- I layout the panel keeping to the customers specification and any space constraints they might have whilst also having to keep the panel very ascetically pleasing to make sure the customer is receiving a high-quality product and also adhering to Fast technologies strict quality policy.
- I interpret wiring schematics, I have to use Cembre software on the computer to generate a list of labels to wire the panel.
- I use PVC singles and Multi-core cable to wire the panel whilst using various hand tools to do this.
- I am responsible for testing the panel using various pieces of equipment, Fluke multi meter, DC clamp meter, load bank and a thermal image camera
- Whist testing the panel I have to follow strict testing procedure systematically whilst wearing the correct PPE needed.
- I am Responsible for fault finding any panels that might have a fault present, I have to use my initiative to determine the fault but also consulting with my colleagues and manager for advice if the fault is not clear.
- I work in a small team using teamwork to complete large projects, whist also working on my own using my initiative when there are various projects that need to be completed
- I have to work under various time constraints
- I am involved in maintaining the buildings electrics and keeping up with any electrical maintenance needed.
- I have been involved in repair work on the projects and maintenance that's needed on panels which has required me to travel to the UK and Europe, whilst away I have Represented Fast technologies to the customer talking professionally and completing the work on time to the highest standard leaving the customer happy.
- In the last two years I have moved onto automation projects which includes building and wiring control panels.
- I am responsible for installing cable containment which best suits the project and which is most aesthetically pleasing.
- These projects involve wiring PLC's, Remote I/O modules, Robot controllers, safety relay Etc.

- I am responsible for overseeing and performing inspection and testing on LV/MV switch gear. Which included testing line by line through a drawing, Using a Micro Ohm meter, Insulation resistance tester, Hi pot tester and primary and secondary injection test equipment.
- Responsibly handled and maintained various testing equipment, ensuring safety protocols and efficient functionality.
- Whilst testing I ensured drawings were error free through careful examination and red marking them when necessary.
- Ensure successful execution of factory acceptance tests by overseeing the testing of switchgear and demonstrating its functionality in front of customers.
- Represented Vertiv by traveling to client sites and conducting site acceptance tests.
- It is my responsibility to complete the testing book accurately with test results and return them to my manager which then is given to the client.

- As an apprentice electrician i gained a lot of experience in different aspects of electrical work, I was involved and learned how to install various methods of cable management Professionally and to a very high standard, Trunking, conduit, cable tray etc. I had to use various hand tools and power tools to do this and also using layout diagrams and listening to strict instructions from my supervisor, i learned how to make bends in these items using precise measuring to leave a professional finish for the customer, I was involved in various wiring using various types of cable, Twin&Earth, PVC singles, SWA, and FP200 cable
- I would wire as part of a team and also on my own using wiring diagrams and my knowledge and experience I have gained, I would also have to liaise with the customer or consultant to any changes that had to be made
- I was involved in some inspection and testing, I worked with my team to complete various fault-finding tasks, and snag lists, I also gained a very good knowledge in Health and safety and keeping my workplace tidy of mess and tripping hazards
