Summary

Hello! My name is Aaron Anikie, and I am a 16-year-old High School student who recently completed a work experience placement. During my time at Kingswood primary, I had the opportunity to learn valuable skills such as communication, teamwork and time management. I've also had the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh challenge earlier on in my school years and have achieved the bronze certificate, which helped me to increase my confidence and overall ability to work with my peers and colleagues effectively.

I am a dedicated and hardworking individual who is eager to continue gaining experience and developing my skills. I am passionate about learning new things, and I am excited to explore different career opportunities in the future. For example, I have learned French in my free time in order to broaden my knowledge and understanding of other cultures, and even spent a week in Paris to further my knowledge on the day-to-day life of a French person.

In my free time, I enjoy playing a multitude of sports such as basketball, football and badminton. I also volunteer at Kingswood primary regularly and participate in extracurricular activities such as track and athletics. I have also played team sports for most of my life and currently play for my school's football and basketball team as captain.

I am looking forward to continuing my academic and personal growth, and I am confident that my work experience has prepared me for future challenges and opportunities. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me!

Work history

Teaching assistant (work experience)

Kingswood primary
London, London
03.2024 - 03.2024

During my work experience in Kingswood primary, I shadowed a full-time teacher and assisted in supporting small groups, targeted individual children who needed extra support as well as day to day classroom duties. I assisted in lesson planning for effective curriculum delivery (including work and stimuli for those with diagnosed learning impairments) and I also helped with classroom displays which supported learning across the curriculum. Additionally, I participated in meetings with full-time teachers and gave my input on improving the delivery of education to the students of the school. I participated in reflective discussions at the end of each day so that adjustments and improvements would be made for the next day. I also supported with playground duties as well Physical Education lessons, where I was entrusted with taking small groups to learn specific techniques.
