-Through participation in the Quality & Safety Committee will be responsible for communicating and disseminating pertinent issues when required.

-To ensure up-to-date knowledge of clinical developments and implement evidence-based practice.

-Ensure that the Health Board's Policies and Procedures, especially in matters relating to discipline, grievance and industrial relations, are adhered to.

-Maintain effective working relationships with trade unions and professional organisations.

-Facilitate the implementation of service model(s) ensuring that the teams’ development and educational needs are met, whilst progressing the operational development of these continually evolving services.

-To contribute to the development of forensic community services across SBUHB in line with the strategic aims for the mental health directorate’s services both on a local and national level.

-Participate in the development of long-term strategic plans which impact across the Health Board and its partner agencies.

-Responsibility for the delivery of multidisciplinary, multi-agency mental health services to adults in line with local guidance and operational policies.

-Ensure compliance with and delivery of Health Board and Local Authority Human Resources policies and procedures.

-Undertake investigations and make recommendations on behalf of the Health Board including complaints, critical incidents and safeguarding.

-To provide clinical advice, direction to non-health professionals regarding the management of mentally disordered offenders.

-Provide specialist teaching to colleagues within health and other agencies.

-Co-ordinate the implementation of mental health legislation on mentally disordered offenders in the local criminal justice process who may require diversion.

- Actively participate and as required, contribute reports to Multi Agency Public Protection Meetings (MAPPA)
