Involved in several complex insurance coverage matters as well as assisting with various defence-related tasks. Work included:

  • Drafting clear and accurate insurer updates with current case developments and next steps
  • Taking detailed attendance notes and drafting emails with action points following meetings with Insurers and Insured
  • Reviewing PI insurance policies, construction contracts such as Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) and complex delay and cost claims
  • Assisting with drafting a preliminary coverage report with focus on the factual background but also assisting with planning the liability section
  • Creating a detailed Working Quantum spreadsheet comparing and analysing the Landlord’s and Insured’s heads of claim
  • Proactively suggesting next steps, drafting emails, and independently responding to insurer queries

  • Handled many transactional property matters independently from file opening to billing including licences to assign, licenses to underlet, wayleaves and rates mitigation leases as well as assisting fee earners with large scale matters
  • Work included:
  • Managing Project Derby which included forty applications for consent to assign a lease
  • Including reporting on the lease clauses, enquiries, preparing and sending applications to Landlords, negotiating and corresponding with Landlord solicitors, updating weekly trackers for the client, keeping float trackers, providing undertakings, moving money, drafting licences and transfer documents, agreeing final documents with the Landlord and Administrator and completing the licences
  • Other work:
  • Calculating SDLT and LTT and preparing returns, along with drafting and submitting a wide range of often complex Land Registry applications using TM Convey and the Land Registry
  • Drafting documents including leases, lease reports, deeds of variation, contracts, transfers, rent review memorandums, reports on title, replies to CPSEs, various licences, financing documents including CH2, RX1, RX4 and rule 111 letters and deeds of surrender, rates mitigations leases and wayleaves
  • Carrying out post-completion matters including drafting letters, sending notices of assignment to Landlords, arranging payment of notice fees and invoices, sending original documents to the other side, ensuring no money is left in the client account and getting released from undertakings

  • Worked on a wide range of complex personal injury claims for defendants and their insurers, including high-value Road Traffic Accident claims (injuries and fatal accidents)
  • Work included:
  • Attending many expert conferences, joint settlement meetings, court hearings, witness interviews and inquests
  • Conducting a solo interview of a witness and accurately reporting to the client my views on how credible the witness will be to our case
  • Drafting witness statements and annexing relevant exhibits

Successfully balanced fee-earning work with pro bono activities and participation in internal and external events at Clyde & Co. Key contributions include:

  • Magpie Project: Supporting mothers and young children in temporary accommodation in Newham by assisting with council forms, arranging translation services, explaining form requirements, reviewing evidence, and submitting documents for temporary accommodation and Universal Credit.
  • Guildford Legal Walk (July 2024): Participated in the legal walk to raise funds for Surrey-based advice agencies and organised a staff bake sale, raising over £1000 for the London Legal Support Trust.
  • Event Participation: Attended multiple Gecco and ACED Clyde & Co events, including the Brazilian Carnival, Chinese New Year, and International Women's Day Breakfast.
